Today was a roller coaster of emotions. We got up early (boo!), had a delicious pancake breakfast (yay!), said goodbye to some beautiful people from first session (boo!), had some wonderful classes (yay!), cleaned (boo!), then said hello to even MORE beautiful people that we picked up on the ferry for the second session of camp (YAYYYY!!!)
Here are some of the photos from classes this morning. In photography class, the project was to photograph your favorite place at camp. Scott chose the bus, Paul chose the main cabin, Pete chose the Jub Jub porch, George picked friends, and Keenan and Sam chose nature, to name a few. Here are some of their images!
And in art class we began a collaborative art piece where campers and counselors paint pieces of wood and then we assemble them at the end into one giant installation.
After classes, we said hello to some new arrivals but old friends! Then, since it was too windy to go to the beach, we loaded up the bus and headed to some cliffs in Aquinnah! It was beautiful and not as dangerous as it sounds.
BETHIE IS HERE!
SKYLAR IS HERE!
SUE HARRINGTON IS HERE!
JUAN STAYED FOR THE MONTH!
LEIF IS HERE! (with a great new haircut you will see more of in future posts)
And all these people are here! Hooray! Special thanks to the stranger who took this picture for us, and to the foreign tourists who took our picture for their personal use, and welcome to America!
After Aquinnah, we headed home to JoJo's amazing home-cooked Puerto Rican feast!
Then we quickly cast aside all the camaraderie we established today in favor of a bloodthirsty, winner-take-all CHALLENGE NIGHT!
Most photos look strangely uncomfortable or misleadingly provocative, so here's a few that we can show
Marie and Chloe had a stick breaking contest (Marie won!)
Sam and Stef had a smelly feet contest that JoJo judged (JoJo lost!)
Rosie and Jason had an air guitar contest (Jason won!)
Shirley and Hannah had a well-fought arm wrestling faceoff (Shirley won! Also SHIRLEY'S HERE!)
And all these guys had a Proud Mary performance, where everyone won.
There was also some arm-wrestling, nail painting, hot sauce drinking, shoe-putting-on, wobbling, and floor dancing. It was a great night!
Now we're all settled in with our new camper and counselor groups, we're unpacked, our cabins are sort of clean, and we're ready for another day of adventure tomorrow.
Love,
Camp
