Rain? What rain?

Today we awoke to the fresh summer scent that follows a huge, torrential, borderline terrifying 3am downpour. We all gathered in the studio for some morning yoga and meditation, opening our minds and stretching our quads.

After we loosened up, we had another successful day of classes, including Heads Up (as made famous by the Ellen show), computers with the lovely Kim Ho, art with the also-lovely Kaitlin, and World Cup Class with the also-also-lovely Ben Winter. Gus, Becca, and Julia also got to go to the library and listen to some story time with Sully, Bella, and Elyse. It was a great morning.

After classes, we were so revved up about the World Cup that we demanded to eat our lunch in the studio to watch a livestream of the USA v. Germany game! Unfortunately, none of us knew anything about soccer, but FORTUNATELY Ben Winter is here and was able to explain to all of us that the World Cup is not just one game, soccer takes at least 90 minutes, and we were the team in the white shirts! Thanks, Ben!

After lunch, campers and counselors had time to shower and rest and then everyone had a free choice for activities. Some people played board games, some went into town, and some made artwork.

The rain held off for the town-goers and we had a lovely time drinking coffee and exploring the neighborhood. Hillary had a leisurely bike ride through Vineyard Haven and Dick, Emily, Patty, and Kelsey enjoyed a massive caffeine buzz from Mocha Motts.

When we got home, we had yet another fantastic meal from Cynthia and the Gang and then sprinted down to the studio for the opening ceremonies for COLOR WARS

Our fearful, formidable leaders once again paid homage to the wars of the past in preparation for a whole new battle. Once again the strong bonds between cabins and campers will be tested by an unrelenting barrage of physical and psychological challenges. Once again we will become one with red, blue, and green. Only the strong will make it through, and only the strongest will come out victorious. Also, there will probably be a lot of glitter.

Best of luck to all, as we enter COLOR WAR III

Love,
Camp
