Camp Jabberwocky is officially IN SESSION!

Many counselors have been here since Friday to clean and dust and get CPR certified and spruce up camp to get it ready for the campers! This was all fun but not nearly as fun as TODAY because today was the day that the first session of campers came to hang out with us!!!!! Finally!

We wore silly, attractive costumes and normal clothes to the ferry to pick up the campers and sang songs to greet them and the other people getting off the ferry!

Woooooo!

Then the campers came down the ramp and into our excited, flailing arms!
Hannah is thrilled to be back and has a whole bunch of things to catch us up on in her life

Once we met all the new campers and counselors, we shoved some lunch down our joyous throats, unpacked all our clean clothes, and got ready to go to to drumming on the beach! We had a delicious cookout thanks to Cynthia, JoJo, Sierra, Maya, Peter, Ken, Jeff, and many other people we're probably forgetting but most certainly appreciate.

Here is JoJo appreciating Dr. Steve a lot. He's our doctor for the first session and he also takes many of the wonderful photos for the blog! Hi, Steve!

And now say hi to some more campers! Patty is thrilled to be back and ready to party and eat potato salad!

This is Juan! Juan is a new camper who loves martial arts, dancing, jokes, and has a lot of great stories about adventures he's had. Hi, Juan!

Jason enjoyed the beautiful view in front of him, but wasn't so sure about the temperature of the water just yet... almost everyone agreed with him.

Paul Remy showed up fashionably late, as usual, and had an impromptu photoshoot as we all ran up to hug him.

And this is Raymond! Raymond hails from Florida and has brought with him so many wonderful skills like dinner prep, hat-wearing, charades, and fishing! He caught a Quahog today and carried it around in a bucket to terrify and intrigue us. Welcome, Ray!

And this nugget of joy is Gus! Gus is a day camper who loves pretty much everything, but especially skipping rocks and drumming with Ray, so far! We can't wait to find out what else he loves tomorrow!

As the sun set, we danced to Rick and the gang's soothing rhythms and then loaded up the bus so Rick could drive us home! Thanks for driving the bus, Rick!

Now we are sleepy and NOT sunburnt and very very happy to be back home at camp.
We will have lots of more stories after we have some rest.

Love,
Camp
