some updates

Hey folks

2 updates for you.

Nancy Jesseau - she has made the decision to give up her apartment, and stay in the nursing facility that she was rehabbing at earlier in the year. she has made a lot of friends, and does a lot of activities.

of course her friend ed goes to visit her almost daily. on nice days, they "escape" and go out for lunch or coffee or something... :)

i just found out - and i mean "just" - that nancy now has a phone in her room.

so her contact info is as follows

nancy jesseau
Charlwell House
305 Walpole St
Norwood, MA 02602

phone - 781.551.0779

she is very much looking forward to seeing all of us at camp SOON

=======================

stefanie sacks:

she is able to support herself independently (no crutches, or brace), although her leg still gives her a fair amount of pain from time to time. she is going for another MRI on May 5th to make sure things are still progressing as they should.

when she knows more, she'll let us all know.

========================

that's as much as i know right now.

if YOU have news - please feel free to let me know - we'd love to share in your successes, and be able to support you if/when you need it.

thanks,
faith

hello folks

Just wondering:

Did anyone know that there is a jabberwocky message board? i didn't until today. you can find it at: www.campjabberwocky.org. when you get to the homepage, there's a link that says "camp news". if you click it there's a drop-down menu: "blogs", and "message board".

this could be a really fun thing... check it out. if enough people know about it, we could really get something started, i think.

enjoy,
faith

if you want to see even _more_ celtics pics, including some with people from the july session, go to www.celtics.com/fanfoto

choose the march 28th game.

then choose gallery 21a

Camp Friends-

Last Friday night another Jabberwocky Winter Folly took place. A group of 80 people made up of campers, counselors and their families from both the July & August camps, went to the Boston Celtic's game. We all had a wonderful time chatting with friends, eating pizza and best of all watching the Celtic's game.

The night wouldn't have been possible had it not been for Kelsey Grousebeck and her parents, Wyc and Corrine. They were so wonderful to have camp as their guests and provide us with great seats and dinner.

I would like to thank everyone for making the journey into Boston and a *big* thanks to those that helped with rides. Faith is going to post some of the photos from the game so make sure you don't miss seeing them. We hope to have more Winter Follies like this one in the near future. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks again for a great night!

Love
Sully

ps. faith says:

i will indeed post pictures of the game on the blog. i am hoping to get a lesson on how to *do* that tonight. so, please be patient with me.

i know for sure you all need to email me your pictures if you want them to be included in the post, so - send away!

and - if you have stories of your own about the Celtics game, let me hear em... i'm sure there were many adventures i wasn't aware of happening all around me! :)

more public speaking

Hey Everyone

Stef has yet another speaking engagement coming up. Thursday March 20th she heads to the Vineyard to speak to Madeline Way's class held on Camp grounds throughout the school year. It should be interesting to be on Camp grounds during a different time of year. I bet it will be a lot more quiet! :)

Still - the Jabberwocky vibe will be just a little stronger on the Vineyard this weekend. I think it's a good way to start to prep the island for the summer. Add Jabberwocky little by little until we arrive "en masse" this summer.

Get ready, Martha's Vineyard! Here we come!

Have fun, Stef. Let us know how it goes...

Springing Forward

Just a reminder:

If you live in an area where daylight savings time exists - that lets out our friends in Kansas and Indiana, as far as i know -

DON'T FORGET TO 'SPRING AHEAD' THIS WEEKEND!!!

that's right. this is the weekend to change the clocks. *Gasp* So before you go to bed on Saturday (or if you just happen to be up at 2am on Sunday) flip the clocks forward an hour.

we may lose an hour of sleep, but we gain an hour of sunlight.

ANOTHER SURE SIGN THAT CAMP IS ON ITS WAY!!!

luvya,
faith

CONGRATS, STEFANIE!

As most of you know, Stefanie S. had her first Art Show last month. All went well, and she had a wonderful evening.

Turns out, things went *better* than "well."

Through the grapevine, the "Autism Awareness" people heard of her work, and asked her to submit a few rough sketches for the possibility of an being incorporated into an international logo. One of her sketches was chosen! Once it is all fine-tuned and everything, a Stefanie original will be the new logo for Autism Awareness. And we can all say we "knew her when...." :)

Congratulations, Stefanie. We are really proud of you! Keep up the good work!

a happy update!

hi folks,

i just got an update from stefanie. she wants everyone to know that she is done with her physical therapy and is slowly starting to "get her leg back to normal." though it still hurts her if she stands on it too long, she is very happy that she is going to slowly be able to go back to the gym, and start getting her routine and her workouts back.

she still plans to look amazing in her bathing suits this summer on the beach! :)

this has been a long road for stefanie, and she really appreciates your continued support.

thanks again,
faith

hello folks

a lot of you have been asking for a nancy jesseau update.

i just spoke with her on the phone.

she started PT and OT as is getting stronger. she doesn't have any idea how long she will be staying at Charlwell House, and according to Ed (her cook and best bud) they still have some tests and a few "work-ups" they want to do. so it might be a while.

she does not have a phone line in her room yet, but Helen (her best friend, and a long-time friend of Camp's) is "working on it," so hopefully she will have a phone soon. in the meantime, her address is the same as i have posted before. she thinks her room number is 5A, but she's not sure - and you don't need a room number to write to her - so...

she would love it if people who are nearby would visit (charlwell house is in Norwood, MA). And she said she would really like to have some mail. sounds like this may be a long stint for nancy, but i will keep you updated as i learn more.

hope y'all are doing well in the new year!
