Beating the Heat

While the rest of the East coast melted away in Heat Wave '10, we Jabberwockians hit the beach and cooled off in the refreshing seas.  We also ate hamburgers and chocolate.

Hellcat, our fearless founder, was there too, telling everyone she was 97 years old despite claims that she was only 96.  We tried to tackle her into the sand but she fought us off every time!

The Parade!

The theme this year was "Jabberwocky in Outer Space" which turned into a Star Wars theme and we won an award for our parade presentation: "Best Overall Everything".  It was a great parade, everyone cheered for us and we were all tired afterwards and some of us threw up on our space costumes but that was nothing new except they were space costumes that needed to be cleaned instead of animals or princesses or something.  The second half of camp has begun!  Jo-Jo left but she's coming back and we got a whole bunch of new campers and counselors to replace the ones we lost. 

It's been a great summer so please come say hello if you are on the Vineyard and get ready for the best play ever: Fame! That's the name of the play, "Fame!", but we still need to write it and rehearse too.   Somehow we've got to figure out how to use all these space costumes in a play about a high school for performing arts...Anyway, tonight we are going to drumming at the beach! Sand in our fannies! Yes!

Dance Fever

At Camp Jabberwocky, we're always dancing.  Whether it's a party we're throwing, a talent show, or camper-counselor challenge night, our original moves and beats are always on fresh display.  If you're looking for a little style on the dance floor, maybe you can pick up some moves from us!

Strawberry Fields

Morning Glory Farms invited Camp Jabberwocky to come and pick fresh strawberries!  They were unbelievably delicious, and it we all had so much fun exploring the field, making sure that no leaf went unturned, no strawberry un-picked.

Last Dance

Sorry for the recent hiatus we've taken from blog updates!  Apologies, apologies all around.  Unfortunately our wireless was down for the last couple days - but it looks like we're back in business!  So keep checking back in the next few days, as they should be chock full of all the recaps we've missed out on.

SO: on the 25th, we had a dance and pizza party in the studio. There was shimmying, shaking, pop and locking - the whole night was an all out ball!  (And hopefully, everyone got a chance to practice their new dance moves for the prom!)
