Posting from Not Camp is Not Fun

Hope everyone is adjusting well to less fun, more serious things...

I miss camp.

But if you're a lucky August person, you are living it up at Jabb's August session, which just started! Check out their blog here for pictures and stories of their adventures! http://jabberwockyinaugust.blogspot.com/

In just a few weeks, we will have our annual 5k fundraiser at The Farm Institute in Edgartown. It's on Saturday, August 18 at 9:00 AM. For you little leggers, there is a 1/2 mile fun run! Come show your support by being an impressive athlete or just eating popsicles and dancing. All are welcome.

You can register for the 5k at runforjabberwocky.com or in person. To register in person, go to Camp Jabberwocky on Friday the 17th between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM. Or, just show up early on the day of the race if you're a procrastinator. We still love you.

If you'd like someone more attractive to tell you this information, please press the play button below.

Thanks Scott! Miss you.

Most importantly, tomorrow is the memorial service honoring Helen Lamb. If you'd like to attend, it will be in Oak Bluffs at the Tabernacle from 2 to 4 PM. The boats leaving from Woods Hole tomorrow and arriving in Oak Bluffs right near the Tabernacle will be departing at 9:30 AM, 11:00, and 12:00 PM.

Love love love you all

oops

We just uploaded all of the Drumming on the Beach photos and some of the pictures from the PLAY!! ...but then we spilled coffee on the laptop. Sorry.

The play (The Great Gatsby) was INCREDIBLE and so much fun to put on! Thank you to all the counselors for doing so much to make it happen and learn the words to the songs. And thank you to Mike and Nathaniel and Adam and Dave and Jake and Chad and Hank and Merry and Brynn and JoJo and Sully and Madeline for making all the important stuff happen.

But thank you especially to the campers and their friends and families for all of the energy and love!

Time to sleep.

Hey the Play is Friday and Saturday!

The past couple of days have been wonderful but busy. All the counselors and many campers have become very tired but very merry, and we're sorry about the delay in posts.

Saturday, we all ventured into town for coffee dates and shopping sprees, then after dinner showed off with a fantastic studio night. Sunday, we had a late wake up, went to Grace Church for service and a delicious sandwich lunch, then did a first read through of the PLAY WHICH IS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

Sunday was also the night of the Street Fair, where we bought all the fried dough we could stuff in our faces and then felt like we were going to throw up.

Today, we had more play rehearsal; hosted the Vineyard Sharks baseball team for JoJo's famous Mexican(?) chicken, beans, rice, and fried plantains; and then headed over to the beach for swimming and tanning. This might be one of our last beach days since we will be spending a lot of time getting ready for the PLAY WHICH IS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

Here are a collection of pictures from these past few days, including some photos from our portrait photography class, as well as many pictures by Dr. Ken. Thanks, Ken!

Look, Kim Ho! We're still doing computer class!

More of the same old song but it sounds so good...

... like the Beatles! Here's a song for you to listen to while you look at the blog. Don't look at their slideshow, though, look at ours.

We're still basking in the glow of the parade, so here are some pictures that Ken Holbert took on the big day!

And today a group of us went sunset kayaking, and here are Ken's pictures from that as well. Thank you, Ken! And a belated but gigantic welcome to Nurse Sarah, Dr. Ken, and Dr. Barb Holbert who have joined us for the last two weeks to heal all ailments and take pictures of it. You are the best family!

It was Shirley's first time in a canoe EVER! She loved it so much.

Today we also went to the Edgartown Theater to see a private showing of Brave, which made everyone miss their moms and Celtic heritage.

Hooray! What a good day.
